My name is Ghulam Ahmed Roomi. I am the Founder of Bitcoin Miner Pakistan, based in Okara, Punjab. I have been working in Bitcoin mining since 2012.
In 2020, I wrote a letter to Tania Aidrus of Digital Pakistan. I told her that Pakistan could produce the cheapest Bitcoin in the world using its hydro power resources in KPK. No one responded.
In 2021, I participated in the KPK Government Crypto Advisory discussions. The interest was there but nothing moved forward.
Today in 2026, PVARA is doing exactly what we were asking for all those years. A real regulatory authority. A law passed through Parliament. Plans to promote Bitcoin mining as a national energy strategy. This is the change our industry needed.
We have deployed over 40 mining projects across Pakistan. We have built hydro-powered farms in Swat Valley and solar-powered setups across Punjab. We have been doing this work honestly, quietly, and without any legal framework to protect us.
All we ask is a clear licensing pathway for mining operations, banking access for legitimate mining businesses, and energy allocation policy that puts surplus hydro and solar power in the hands of miners who can turn it into real economic value for this country.
